The relationship between Yohji Yamamoto Inc. and artist Saeko Tsuemura began with a collaboration for the Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME Spring/Summer 1991 collection. The impressive illustrations of women presented at that time are still known as one of the representative icons of Yohji Yamamoto Inc.
And now, following the blouson and T-shirt released last October, an open-collar shirt featuring artwork that did not appear in the original collection will be introduced.
Ms. Tsuemura's delicate brushwork has been reconstructed onto the back of the camp-collar shirt using advanced modern printing techniques. It employs a seasonless cotton broadcloth, achieving a light and comfortable feel. A tack on the back yoke creates a silhouette with depth. With its simple and relaxed WILDSIDE-esque design, it is a piece that blends into various stylings.
