Y's announces a capsule collection inspired by the motif of cactus flowers. Starting April 8th (Wednesday), these collections will be available at limited-time stores opening sequentially across Japan, beginning with Isetan Shinjuku.
The cactus flower motif is expressed on Y's signature materials using techniques such as embroidery and discharge printing. The limited-time stores will feature a collection that combines vibrant cactus flowers with classic silhouettes.
Y’s Artisan’s Trace
A wool gabardine jacket featuring three-dimensional volume, warmth, and hand embroidery with subtle individual variations. The embroidery's expression and hue subtly shift with the angle. Asymmetrical silhouette.
A blouse and suspender pants with irregularly placed cactus flower motifs. The cupro fabric, with its luster and drape, creates depth through variations in flower tones and subtle blurring.
Cactus flower motifs are discharge printed onto denim fabric, with embroidery applied to scatter beads in line with the pattern. The contrast between indigo, the discharge-printed off-white, and transparent beads creates a fresh impression.

Y’s Y's is the first brand created by Yohji Yamamoto in 1972, and it embodies his philosophy and ideology in clothing creation. The origin lies in creating clothes for independent women who possess values that transcend trends, based on the concept of women wearing men's clothing. Functional and dignified everyday wear. Y's creations are shaped within its unique category, embodying universal values and unique pattern making. Focusing on cutting and silhouette, utilizing the texture of materials, and valuing the air, volume, and balance that exist between the wearer's body and the garment. The current atelier team, inheriting this philosophy, proposes collections that embody the brand's identity as functional, high-quality ready-to-wear. http://www.yohjiyamamoto.co.jp/ys/
