In this collaboration, one art piece and three fashion items will be released.
The Bijinga (portrait of a beautiful woman) "Spring Wind" is a piece specially drawn by Ms. Uchida to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the opening of WILDSIDE YOHJI YAMAMOTO HARAJUKU. Returning to the Bijinga presented in her first collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto Inc., the Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME 2018 S/S collection, she pursued more three-dimensional posing in this work. Her hair flutters with a soft movement reminiscent of a spring breeze, finishing as a piece enveloped in a light, airy atmosphere.
Additionally, while utilizing the characteristics of each material, the worldview of "Spring Wind" is incorporated into three apparel items featuring marguerite flowers: a jacket, a blouse, and a T-shirt. The crepe de chine jacket is light and wrinkle-resistant, while the rayon blouse charms with its soft drape. The T-shirt is finished with a loose silhouette that provides a form with blank space. It is characterized by delicate expression that faithfully reproduces the texture of the original painting and the touch of the pencil, allowing you to almost feel the texture of the painting. Suzume Uchida / Artist
Born in 1986. After graduating from the School of Art and Design at the University of Tsukuba and experiencing the corporate world, she began creating art in 2014 and held her first solo exhibition the same year. Based on realistic and delicate portrayals of figures, her main subjects are the female body and inner self, and the fluctuations of memories and emotions. Characterized by depicting memories rooted in early experiences like a documentary, she expresses the hope and vitality that exist beyond anxiety and sadness about life. Her works have been presented at galleries and art fairs domestically and internationally. Starting with a collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME in 2017, she has participated in numerous collaborations including Y-3 and BE@RBRICK.
