YAMADAYA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Taro Yamada) will release collaboration items as the 3rd installment of the 'Our Sustainable' project, a collaboration with Art Brut artists, at physical stores and online stores starting Friday, April 17.
For this project, in addition to the works of 'Shoko Usui', whom we partnered with in the 1st installment, we have incorporated the works of a new collaboration partner, 'Shoya Nogi', into the designs of folding umbrellas and folding fans.
These items allow you to incorporate the art of two artists, known for their colorful and free expressions, into your daily life. The folding fans come with outdoor specifications including a carabiner and paracord, and the umbrellas are highly functional with a UV cut coating. Please look forward to them.
Background of the Co-creation
At YAMADAYA, we have launched the 'tsumugu~& cycle by me~' project, meaning to connect people's 'happiness', 'lives', and 'thoughts'.
As part of this activity, an encounter with an organization called Sketchglam triggered the start of this project.
Like YAMADAYA, Sketchglam is based in Aichi Prefecture and operates under the concept: 'Not as an inability, but as a charm. People living with disabilities known as Art Brut (disabled art) artists who connect with society through art. The works born from their hands are slightly mysterious and very gentle. We aim to change the image of "disability = negative" rooted in society by having artists with disabilities and corporations work together.' Sympathizing with this thought, we have realized this 3rd collaboration, continuing from the previous ones.
