YEJapan LLC (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) will strengthen its collaboration with 'Circular E,' its Rotterdam, Netherlands base established in October 2025, to fully develop a support system for implementing the circular economy in Europe based on policy and industrial trends.
Circular E is based at 'BlueCity,' a circular economy incubation hub in Rotterdam, and conducts research and practical activities related to European circular economy policies, urban implementation, corporate support, and international collaboration.
In Europe, circular economy policies such as the EU Green Deal, Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, Digital Product Passport (DPP), and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) are advancing, with rapid progress in system design and industrial implementation by municipalities and industries.
By strengthening this partnership, YEJapan will enhance its access to primary information on local European policy trends, industrial case studies, urban implementation, and challenges, thereby further strengthening its support for Japanese companies and municipalities in building and implementing circular economy strategies.
Launch of Circular Cafe Rotterdam
In line with this strengthened partnership, we will launch 'Circular Cafe Rotterdam' based in Rotterdam.
Circular Cafe Rotterdam is a small-group roundtable community for practitioners who want to implement the circular economy as a business opportunity, not just as a response to regulations or as a philosophy.
Based on European policy and market trends, we will create a forum for dialogue between Japan and Europe online, connecting in real-time from BlueCity in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This will be a place to share European case studies and challenges alongside the specific issues faced by Japanese participants, and to discuss strategic perspectives for implementation.
The first session will be held as a free, invitation-only online event to commemorate this strengthened partnership. Details on the date and how to participate will be announced on our website and LinkedIn in the future.
Dissemination of European Trends and Strengthening of International Collaboration
YEJapan and Circular E will continue to disseminate information from the ground on European policy and regulatory trends, industrial case studies, and urban circular implementation.
Furthermore, in the first half of 2026, we plan to participate in and speak at several major international conferences related to the circular economy in Europe.
