Challenges of Parental Burden and Quality of Childcare During Long Holidays
With dual-income households exceeding 12 million in Japan, securing childcare during long holidays has become a critical challenge for balancing work and family. A recent survey (*1) indicates that approximately 80% (77.9%) of elementary school parents feel a burden regarding summer childcare. Following lunch preparation, securing experiential opportunities for children ranks as a top concern.
Furthermore, the survey revealed that about 60% of children feel they 'want to do something different' or are 'bored' with their current after-school environment during summer. While many facilities function merely as safe havens, the repetitive nature of daily routines fails to spark the inherent curiosity and desire to learn in children.
Leveraging a network of over 210 schools and the expertise gained from over 100,000 graduates, Kids Duo goes beyond the framework of traditional after-school care. We transform this time into an opportunity for children to encounter unknown worlds and open doors to new interests. Through our summer school, we aim to prevent boredom while providing experiences that touch on diverse values and social issues using English as a tool, maximizing children's natural curiosity and proactive mindset for the future.
