Daiwa Zaitaku Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / Osaka-shi, Osaka; CEO: Masaaki Fujiwara; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which develops asset value co-creation businesses utilizing the real estate and construction fields, has made a donation to Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, and has now been awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon. We are pleased to announce that we received the certificate of commendation from Mr. Asami, Mayor of Nagahama City, at the conferment ceremony held in Nagahama City on March 27, 2026.

What is the Medal with Purple Ribbon?

The Medal with Purple Ribbon is an award bestowed to recognize achievements in donation activities aimed at benefiting society as a whole and improving public welfare. It is a testament to the continuous and meaningful social contributions and public initiatives of corporations and individuals that have been widely recognized.

※This award is for donations made as a corporation.

Background of the Donation and Future Outlook

On September 30, 2024, the Company acquired 100% of the shares of Sugatani Onsen Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture), making the hot spring inn "Sugatani Onsen" operated by the company a wholly-owned subsidiary. "Sugatani Onsen" is a historic and renowned hot spring, and while it is a charming traditional inn, the Company plans to rebrand it into an even more valuable accommodation facility by leveraging its expertise and technology in design and construction.

On the other hand, Nagahama City, where "Sugatani Onsen" is located, tends to experience a natural population decline. The Company aims not only to succeed in revitalizing the inn but also to contribute to regional revitalization in Nagahama City, positioning initiatives centered on tourism as an important theme. As part of this effort, we made a donation to support community and public-oriented initiatives.

Purpose of the Donation

The donated funds will be used for a "Creation of Opportunities for Activity" project aimed at revitalizing Nagahama City and attracting visitors.

Specifically, to leverage the high potential of Odani Castle Ruins, a representative historical heritage of Nagahama City, the funds are intended to be used as financial resources for projects to maintain and pass down Nagahama City's regional resources, such as its historical sites, to future generations.

Moving forward, the Company will continue to enhance the richness of life for its customers, business partners, and employees through its business activities. We are committed to contributing to the further development of Japan and countries around the world, and to continuously circulate prosperity.
