Yamada West Japan Reuse Center Yamaguchi Factory Installs Solar Panels, Switching Approx. 33% of Factory Electricity to Renewable Energy

CIC Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture; President: Shinichi Ota), a member of the Yamada Holdings Group, has installed solar panels at the Yamada West Japan Reuse Center Yamaguchi Factory (Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture), which produces reused consumer electronics. Through this initiative, approximately 33% of the electricity used for factory operations will be switched to renewable energy, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact through CO2 emission cuts.

Initiatives for CO2 Emission Reduction The 'Yamada West Japan Reuse Center Yamaguchi Factory' (Site Area: 6,600 tsubo, Floor Area: 2,500 tsubo), established in May 2025, remanufactures used consumer electronics purchased and collected from Yamada Denki stores into reused products. The group's reuse appliance business significantly reduces Scope 3 Category 1 CO2 emissions compared to the process of procuring new consumer electronics. Now, by utilizing solar power at this factory, CO2 emissions will be further reduced by 139 tons annually.

The newly introduced solar power generation equipment is expected to generate 385,902 kWh annually, switching about 33%* of the electricity used for factory operations to renewable energy. This is equivalent to the annual electrical energy consumed by approximately 100 average households*. *Calculated based on design values for annual total power generation.
