Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Taito-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Tsutomu Takahashi) will host two online seminars in April 2026 for corporate sustainability managers, corporate planning, and environmental strategy personnel, explaining flood damage countermeasures and the utilization of J-Blue Credit® for improving corporate value. In the face of intensifying flood risk, corporate countermeasures are being forced into a fundamental review. Many companies face the challenge of making "balanced investment decisions – how much cost to invest and how to ensure effectiveness" for strengthening defenses through large-scale facility investment and preparing recovery systems based on disaster assumptions (BCP, insurance, etc.). Currently, many companies disclose estimated damage amounts within frameworks like TCFD, but this is still in the initial stage of risk assessment. Stakeholders are seeking visualization of the positive effects that will enhance corporate resilience in the future as a result of taking countermeasures. Currently, such value is not yet fully quantified.
The standard for flood damage countermeasures is about to change significantly. Companies need to update flood damage countermeasures from mere "costs" to "investments that enhance corporate value." This seminar will explain strategies for next-generation disaster prevention and for advancing to a corporate step-up that is highly valued by stakeholders, incorporating the latest case studies.
Recommended for company representatives experiencing the following challenges: * Have calculated damage amounts for TCFD but cannot utilize them for management decisions. * Lack an objective "yardstick" for how much to invest in flood damage countermeasures. * Feel limitations in countermeasures solely within their own company but cannot determine how investments in the watershed will return to their own company.

Speaker: Satoshi Yoshiwara, Manager, Sustainability Service Department, Yachiyo Engineering Co., Ltd.
Currently, many companies are accelerating initiatives towards carbon neutrality and nature positivity. However, while activities on land are progressing, on the "sea," the next frontier, many personnel face practical challenges such as "how to adapt land-based knowledge" and "how to build cooperation with local stakeholders like municipalities and fishery cooperatives."
This seminar will explain the entirety of the "J-Blue Credit® system," which contributes to the promotion of sustainability in marine areas, and introduce specific co-creation case studies by advanced municipalities and companies. It will provide hints on creating competitive advantages in TNFD response and ESG branding, not just by offsetting through credit purchases, but by utilizing the company's technologies and assets for marine conservation and building strong relationships of trust with the local community.
Recommended for company representatives experiencing the following challenges: * Are progressing with initiatives for carbon neutrality and nature positivity on land but are struggling with how to advance activities in marine areas. * Wish to promote advanced initiatives in ESG response compared to other companies. * Are seeking ways to collaborate with local stakeholders (e.g., municipalities).
