'The Flap of the Butterfly's Wings' (Produced in 2017)
A debut sci-fi work that Director Nishiyama spent three years creating between the ages of 16 and 18. With the tagline, 'THIS IS MY DESTINY: A single choice changes all fate,' the film was created with a burning passion to become a great director. It received high acclaim internationally, including a Platinum Award at the Mindfield Film Festival 2018 (USA).
■ Masaki Nishiyama Profile
Born in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. Graduate of Nitta Seiun Secondary School.
He began independent film production at age 14. His high school sci-fi film 'The Flap of the Butterfly's Wings' won the Platinum Award at the Mindfield Film Festival 2018. That same year, he released 'The Eternal Moment,' filmed entirely in London. In 2021, his directed work 'Sumo-Horror!' won the Best Short Award in the Vertical Theater category at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2021 and was nominated for the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.
In 2024, he formed the horror unit 'Bermuda 3' with Naoko Sato and Sesuji. He served as video supervisor for the experiential exhibition '1999 Exhibition: Memories of a Day That Never Existed,' held in Shibuya last year, which attracted 100,000 visitors.
In 2025, he made his feature film debut with 'Invisible Half'.
