Men's fashion has long been described as lacking a clear trend. With increasingly diverse tastes and preferences, it's become difficult to identify a mainstream boom. Yet, there remains an unmistakable 'spirit of the times' that has persisted through the ages. Fashion brands respond to this spirit, delivering through their creations what customers truly seek. This is the sentiment we aim to convey. WWDJAPAN interprets the atmosphere communicated by collections in Paris and Milan as 'attachment.' It remains to be seen whether this mood will resonate within the real-world trend landscape of the Japanese market.

In the past, we introduced each brand's signature looks from A to Z, but we now believe customers want to understand the unique atmosphere of genres that match their individual needs. This time, we've categorized diverse brands into four groups: 'select shops' such as BEAMS and UNITED ARROWS; 'trad' brands like PAUL SMITH and ABAHOUSE; 'sports & outdoor' represented by ADIDAS ORIGINALS and GOLDWIN; and 'other recommendations'—emerging labels worth watching. Are these four genres isolated in separate atmospheres, or do they share the same zeitgeist? We also explore the mood within the vintage clothing industry in our column—be sure to read it.
Following the feature, we focus on MARC JACOBS, which, after being sold by LVMH, is restarting under a new management structure. The key to its revival lies in cosmetics and the potential return of its diffusion line, MARC BY MARC JACOBS, which had a strong business presence in Japan before ending in 2015. Also, don't miss editor-in-chief Kaname Murakami's firsthand experience with pickleball, the sport currently making waves in the fashion industry.
