[Kayō Pops Channel] Popular 15-Year-Old Program Undergoes Major Renewal! 'Miyamoto Ryuji no Kayō Pops ☆ Ichibanboshi' Features the Entire Hosokawa Takashi Troupe & Launches New Segment 'Professor Miyamoto's Kayō Pops ☆ Lecture'!

The popular original program "Miyamoto Ryuji no Kayō Pops ☆ Ichibanboshi ~Enka/Kayōkyoku Information Variety~," broadcast every second Friday of the month from 6 PM on the CS broadcast "Kayō Pops Channel," will be renewed starting April 2026, the 15th year since its debut in 2012, delivering even more enriched content.

This program, hosted by former NHK announcer Ryuji Miyamoto and singer/actor Shoko Aida, has been supported by many viewers since its broadcast began. It delves into the charm of songs and the candid side of artists through performances and talks by talented singers from the enka and kayōkyoku world.

With this renewal, the program will break free from its previous "main guest" and "corner guest" structures, adopting a more flexible and expansive format to better highlight the chemistry and performances of its guests.

The first guest for the renewed program will be Takashi Hosokawa, a leading figure in the enka world, along with his active disciples Konomi Mori, Ao Sai, and Aimi Tanaka. The "Hosokawa Takashi Troupe" will gather to liven up the show with their singing and conversations.

Furthermore, a new segment, "Professor Miyamoto's Kayō Pops ☆ Lecture," will be launched!

Ryuji Miyamoto will act as the "professor," delivering enjoyable lectures on topics related to kayōkyoku music and the Japanese language to co-host Shoko Aida and the guests.

The theme for the first lecture will be "Commonly Misused Japanese Words." This segment aims to foster an enjoyable learning experience about the depth of the Japanese language, which also connects to the lyrics of kayōkyoku songs.
