WOWOW's "連續劇W 災" Wins Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award at the 42nd ATP Award TV Grand Prix, Following Best Drama Award

This achievement follows the drama's recent win of the Best Drama Award at the same Grand Prix, marking a remarkable double award.

The ATP Award TV Grand Prix was established in 1984 by the ATP (All Japan TV Program Producers Association) with the aim of enhancing the social function of production companies and honoring the passion and spirit of individual production staff members. The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award, presented this year, is given to one outstanding work selected by the judging committee from several nominated works across the drama, documentary, and information/variety categories that have the potential for international acclaim, with a focus on exceptional direction.

<Introduction>

This is a completely original psycho-suspense drama starring Teruyuki Kagawa, his first drama appearance in three years. The story revolves around six innocent individuals living in the present day. However, as their stories unfold, a certain "man" infiltrates each of their lives. Subsequently, "disaster" mercilessly befalls each of their lives. Who is this "man"? What is this "disaster"?

Kagawa plays a "man" who brings "disaster" to people. He appears before the six characters, transforming his appearance, tone of voice, facial expressions, personality, and even mannerisms to become a completely different person. His unprecedented performance playing eight roles in one drama is a must-see. Co-starring is Anne Nakamura, who has shown remarkable success as an actress in recent years. She plays Midori Domoto, a detective in the First Investigation Division of the Kanagawa Prefectural Police. Triggered by a baffling suicide case within her jurisdiction, she begins to sense the presence of something unsettling lurking around the death.

The cast also includes a stellar lineup of actors such as Ryuhei Matsuda, Jiro (Sissonne), Sena Nakajima, Megumi Uchida, Kisetsu Fujiwara, Maki Sakai, and Kaito Miyachika, and Pistol Takehara. The direction and screenplay are by Tomotaro Seki and Kentaro Hirase from the globally acclaimed directorial collective "Gogatsu." This is a unique "serial drama" that sets itself apart from past suspense dramas.
