This summer, WOWOW will broadcast the "Rugby World 12 Nations Championship."

The opening match on July 4 (Sat) will be "New Zealand vs. France." This clash between the globally popular "All Blacks" and the reigning two-time "Six Nations" champions, Europe's No. 1 power, will kick off a series of intense matches for national pride among the world's top 12 nations. The Japan national team will play three matches: July 4 (Sat) against Italy, July 11 (Sat) against Ireland, and July 18 (Sat) against France. The matches against Italy and France will be held in Japan.

WOWOW will also broadcast live the test match "Australia vs. Japan" on August 15 (Sat).

The "Nations Championship" features a cross-over format where six nations representing the Northern Hemisphere (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Italy) and six nations comprising four from the Southern Hemisphere (New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, South Africa) plus Japan and Fiji, will compete. The 2026 tournament will be held in July (18 matches in total) and November (24 matches in total), with each country playing six matches against teams from the opposing hemisphere's group, plus a Finals Weekend to determine final rankings.
