WOWOW On Demand to Stream the World's Premier Cycling Race, Tour de France

WOWOW Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO Jun Yamamoto) has announced the live streaming of the world's premier cycling race, the Tour de France, on WOWOW On Demand. All 21 stages will be broadcast live daily from the opening on Saturday, July 4, through to the grand finale in Paris on Sunday, July 26.

This year’s race features a highly anticipated 'two-rider rivalry' between Tadej Pogačar, the defending champion aiming for his fifth overall title, and Jonas Vingegaard, seeking to reclaim the throne. About the Tour de France

First held in 1903, the Tour de France is the world’s most prestigious road cycling race. Held annually in July across France and neighboring countries, it consists of daily 'stages' where riders compete fiercely for the coveted yellow jersey, the 'Maillot Jaune,' worn only by the overall race leader.

The 2026 edition will make history by starting in Barcelona, Spain—the first time ever—before moving through Catalonia and crossing the Pyrenees into France. In the final stretch, two consecutive stages will feature the legendary climb of Alpe d'Huez, a site of many epic battles. The race concludes with a spectacular finish on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
