The General Incorporated Association Work Design Lab (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takashi Ishikawa; hereinafter referred to as "Work Design Lab") has opened a new activity base in Kitakami City, Iwate Prefecture. This base has been established within the Kitakami Chamber of Commerce, based on a collaboration agreement signed in April 2024 with the Kitakami Chamber of Commerce (Chairman: Naoya Sato), and aims to revitalize the regional economy and create a "related population" through the promotion of digitalization and the utilization of diverse human resources.

■ Background
Work Design Lab has reached the point of establishing an activity base in Kitakami City through the following background:
Nationwide Initiatives (2021~)
In 2021, we began the "Promotion of Digitalization for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" project in collaboration with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In January 2023, we signed a collaboration agreement aimed at "Promoting Digitalization (Support) for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises through the Utilization of Diverse Human Resources," and have been developing a support model using external human resources.
Deepening Collaboration with Kitakami City (2023~)
In December 2023, in collaboration with the Kitakami Chamber of Commerce, we held a digital utilization seminar for member businesses. We have deepened our trust by repeatedly exchanging opinions on the challenges and needs faced by regional companies.
Agreement Signing and Base Opening (2024~Present)
As a result of continuous discussions, in April 2024, we signed the "Agreement on Collaboration Regarding the Promotion of Digitalization (Support) for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises through the Utilization of Diverse Human Resources" with the Kitakami Chamber of Commerce. Since then, we have carried out regional activities through events such as those for practical digitalization for SMEs. We have decided to establish an activity base with the aim of further creating a "related population" and strengthening our collaboration.
