Recent Awards:

Winner, 9th All Japan Sommelier Championship, organized by the Japan Sommelier Association (2020)

He discovered his passion for wine at the age of 22. Inspired by the sommelier manager at the restaurant where he worked, he began studying wine, thinking it might lead to a salary increase. The following year, while preparing for the sommelier exam, he also entered the "J.S.A. Sommelier Scholarship," a gateway for young sommeliers. After failing in the preliminaries the first time and reaching the semi-finals the second time, he finally won in his third attempt, earning the coveted overseas study trip ticket. His first visit to a wine-producing region deeply moved him with the passion of the producers, solidifying his decision to make "sommelier" his lifelong profession, connecting consumers and producers.

Since then, he has participated in and won various competitions. He has visited over 10 wine-producing countries for research. Currently, he also serves as a director of the Japan Sommelier Association, actively involved in nurturing young sommeliers and improving the status of food and beverage industry professionals.
