WHERE Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Takeo Akutsu) is pleased to announce that its real estate AI tool 'WHERE', which connects users with landowners, has surpassed 50 adopting companies in the renewable energy sector.
This milestone was reached approximately half a year after the official release of the 'ENERGY Update Version' in October 2025. Moving forward, by providing end-to-end support from identifying suitable land to building consensus with landowners, we will promote renewable energy development in harmony with local communities and contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality.
Background
As the 7th Strategic Energy Plan calls for making solar power a primary energy source, competition for securing land is intensifying.
In October 2025, we released the 'ENERGY Update Version' of 'WHERE', which provides a one-stop solution for searching candidate sites using satellite data and AI, integrated screening of administrative and hazard information, and direct approaches to landowners, thereby streamlining the initial review process for renewable energy development.
When developing land for renewable energy, information essential for decision-making—such as legal regulations for protection forests and national forests, agricultural land classifications, and disaster risks—is scattered across various administrative agencies, and omissions in checking this information have been a cause of development troubles. 'WHERE' visualizes this information in a one-stop platform, enabling accurate identification of land suitable for development and supporting the spread of renewable energy in harmony with the natural environment and local communities.
Furthermore, adopting companies have reported specific achievements, such as project creation and successful business negotiations.
Success Case 1: Green Electric Co., Ltd.
Green Electric Co., Ltd., which handles the design and construction of solar power plants, introduced 'WHERE' with the aim of building an in-house land acquisition system. Using satellite data and AI to search for vacant lots and fields, they listed candidate sites nationwide and used WHERE to approach landowners.
As a result, they received 11 responses in one month, 7 of which led to business negotiations. Furthermore, one case has advanced to the preparation stage for a sales transaction, and the installation permit has already been acquired, leading to specific results in a short period of time.
This is an example of successfully building a system that completes everything from exploration to approaching landowners with a small number of people by utilizing 'WHERE'.
Success Case 2: MIRARTH Energy Solutions Co., Ltd.
MIRARTH Energy Solutions Co., Ltd., which develops renewable energy businesses nationwide with a focus on solar power, introduced 'WHERE' to streamline the acquisition of land for storage batteries. Previously, their main methods were gathering information from real estate agents and making new cold calls, but sluggish growth in project numbers and the man-hours required for area selection and investigation were squeezing their sales activities.
After introducing 'WHERE', they built a system to handle everything from creating lists using a combination of AI and self-search to on-site visits and landowner negotiations in a seamless manner. They succeeded in generating 8 projects in just 10 days after introduction. By performing everything from searching to refining screening conditions and acquiring certified copies on 'WHERE', an environment where they can focus on sales activities is being put in place.
WHERE's Unique Data Report: Candidate Site Distribution Based on Approx. 73 Million Real Estate Data Points
Out of a real estate database of approximately 73 million items, results showed that about 68% of properties could be candidates for renewable energy land. In particular, the Chubu region and the Kyushu/Okinawa region have a high percentage of fields, suggesting that these regions offer significant opportunities for agricultural land conversion.

Future Outlook
Going forward, we will continue to expand functions that contribute to improving search accuracy based on the voices of users in the renewable energy business.
Furthermore, we are expanding functions to meet the diverse land needs of renewable energy development, such as roof shape detection and determining the presence or absence of solar panels for rooftop solar power generation (on-site PPA, etc.), as well as searching for idle farmland nationwide.
WHERE will continue to contribute to the further acceleration of the renewable energy business as 'Deal Tech' that commits to generating transactions for users, going beyond just a tool for finding candidate sites.
