Announcement of Special Summer Programs and Oct-Dec Schedule for Sightseeing Train 'Ametuchi'

The sightseeing train 'Ametuchi' celebrates its 8th anniversary this year. To commemorate this, we will hold special events from July to August. We invite you to enjoy a trip through the San'in region on the 'Ametuchi' this summer! We are also announcing the operation dates for October through December. 1. July-August Special Programs: The summer special program will run from Saturday, July 4, 2026, to Monday, August 31, 2026. (1) 8th Anniversary Commemorative Travel Essay: We will present all passengers with an 'Ametuchi Limited Travel Essay' by Tottori-born illustrator Haruka Ibuki. Goods by Haruka Ibuki will also be sold at the Car 2 counter. (2) Onboard 'Kaidan' Broadcasts: Following last year's popularity, we will again broadcast 'Kaidan' (ghost stories) by the famous author Lafcadio Hearn, who had ties to Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, during runs between Tottori Station and Izumoshi Station. 2. October-December Operation Dates: Trains will operate one round trip per day on each line, mainly on weekends. *There will be no service in January and February 2027.
