JR West's Initiative to Support Regional Problem Solving: Joining the Bukatsu Support Consortium

West Japan Railway Company (Kita-ku, Osaka, President: Shoji Kurasaka) announces that it has newly joined as a general member of the Bukatsu Support Consortium (Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Daisuke Ishizuka), a general incorporated association established by three companies: Sports Data Bank, Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Daisuke Ishizuka), Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Yutaka Kaiyama), and Japan Post Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Kazuyuki Negishi). 1. Purpose of Participation: The Bukatsu Support Consortium (commonly known as 'Bukasapo') was established on August 21, 2025 (establishment of the voluntary organization: September 10, 2024), with the aim of continuously contributing to the resolution and elimination of issues related to the regional collaboration and expansion of club activities. This is achieved through collaboration among companies, organizations, universities, research institutions, etc., by providing support that maximizes their respective expertise. The JR West Group is actively promoting initiatives for 'sustainable and prosperous community development' and 'solving regional issues.' As part of this effort, we have decided to join the Bukatsu Support Consortium, endorsing its purpose and objectives. Within this consortium, we will leverage the unique knowledge of our group, whose core business is railways, to strongly support safe and secure regional collaboration and expansion of club activities. We will do this by providing diverse mobility options, such as on-demand dispatch systems, and payment solutions utilizing the ICOCA transportation IC card. 2. About the Bukatsu Support Consortium: <Main Activities> ① Information sharing with companies, organizations, universities, and research institutions considering participation in projects to promote the regional expansion of club activities and regional club activities. ② Collaboration studies for new or existing business development related to projects promoting the regional expansion of club activities and regional club activities. ③ Consulting, including information exchange, etc., regarding the consideration of initiatives to solve the problems of local governments. ④ Other activities necessary to achieve the objectives of this corporation.
