From Saturday, July 18th, CIBONE CASE (Ginza) will host "Impromptu," a solo exhibition by Ruka Kikuchi, the artist behind "Lue," a brand that creates brass cutlery and daily necessities based in Okayama Prefecture.
This exhibition will showcase works born from Kikuchi's desire to "leave the traces of my hands as a creator on my work," a feeling that emerged from years of making daily necessities, set against the backdrop of her journey into craftsmanship that began by helping her father with his work, which is also the origin of her own creations.

The free-flowing lines and shapes drawn using the etching technique are not intentional decorations or self-expression, but rather born from the accumulation of inherited techniques and a sense of wanting to be a part of nature, just like the materials themselves. The sense of familiarity and unfamiliarity felt when holding them, and their quiet presence in the in-between, bring a new perspective while staying close to daily life.

Building on the solid techniques cultivated through daily necessities, Kikuchi is stepping into new forms of expression. This exhibition offers a glimpse into her current position at the forefront of that journey.
