From Saturday, June 27, 2026, jewelry brand GIFTED will host its solo exhibition 'ALTER SPUR' at CIBONE (Omotesando).

Founded in 2011 by designer Keiki Masuzaki, GIFTED references the structures and forms found in vintage jewelry and folk crafts, aiming to create new universalities by traversing diverse values and contexts.

The exhibition title 'ALTER SPUR' is a coined term combining 'ALTER,' meaning 'change' or 'deviation,' and 'SPUR,' signifying 'protrusion,' 'divergence,' or 'derivation.' It symbolizes the brand's current position—consciously updating its framework while inheriting its accumulated forms and philosophies, and expanding in new directions.

The exhibition will debut the new chain series 'IMPLOSION SPUR CHAIN,' along with double rings derived from its structure, updated rings and necklaces, and new motif pendants. Visitors can view a collection that builds upon GIFTED's signature series while incorporating edgier forms and fresh interpretations.

For GIFTED, 2026 marks the beginning of a new phase toward its 20th anniversary. While preserving the unique design language cultivated over the years, the brand is gradually reshaping its contours and connecting to new expressions. 'ALTER SPUR' serves as an exhibition that reveals the traces of this transformation.

GIFTED

Born in 1983, GIFTED is a jewelry brand founded by Keiki Masuzaki. He began his career in 1999 as a craftsman for domestic jewelry brands. From 2001 to 2005, he studied contemporary jewelry under the late Ryuichiro Nakamura at Hiko Mizuno Jewelry College. After graduating, he engaged in artistic activities at galleries and museums both in Japan and abroad. In 2009, he enrolled in the jewelry department at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in the Netherlands but withdrew after one month. Upon returning to Japan, in 2011, he founded GIFTED, re-engaging with commercial jewelry and fashion contexts, inspired by the 1990s silver accessory movement—the era of his first encounter with jewelry. GIFTED comprehensively references the structures and forms of vintage and folk craft jewelry that have circulated for decades, seeking to harmonize or deconstruct multiple differing values to create jewelry with new universality in the contemporary era.
