Students Challenge Corporate Project: Designing Rooms with No Single 'Right Answer'

Weekly&Monthly Co., Ltd., operating Japan's largest monthly/weekly apartment reservation site 'W&M (Weekly & Monthly)' (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido; Representative Director: Kenjiro Kuroki), is disclosing the concept boards created by students and the one-month planning process for the ongoing 'Student Co-creation Monthly Apartment Room Design Project.' The participating students are designing rooms for a new 1LDK (28㎡) apartment in Chitose, Hokkaido, which will be put into actual operation. The biggest challenge was to achieve 'professional quality' to meet the semiconductor demand in Chitose, within a budget of 400,000 JPY per room. Students meticulously reviewed product lists and completed all equipment orders. Installation is now in its final stage, scheduled for April 20th. Today, image boards from student teams that passed the initial screening are being released. One concept, 'Room feeling Chitose River and Lake Shikotsu,' aims to recreate the waterscape and forest tranquility using earth colors and natural materials, offering a relaxing stay for business travelers. Another concept, 'Just arrived home,' features a nostalgic Japanese modern theme with low-profile designs for relaxation, aiming to create a homely atmosphere. The project began one month ago. Future Schedule: April 20th (Monday): Students will perform installation work on-site in Chitose, Hokkaido. Late April: Public voting on W&M official Instagram and internal voting will be conducted.
