## Signed Partnership Agreement with Kishiwada City, Osaka, on Plastic Waste Reduction and Heatstroke Prevention

Waterstand Co., Ltd. (Saitama City, Saitama, President: Hitoshi Honda), a provider of water purifier rentals, announced that it entered into a 'Partnership Agreement on Plastic Waste Reduction and Heatstroke Prevention' with Kishiwada City, Osaka (Mayor: Hidetoshi Sano) on May 11, 2026.

### Agreement Overview and Context

This agreement aims to curb the use of single-use plastic products, such as plastic bottles, to promote plastic waste reduction and heatstroke prevention. Specifically, the initiative focuses on installing refill stations for personal bottles in public facilities, while also promoting public awareness and habits for hydration. Kishiwada City is responsible for raising public awareness, while Waterstand provides technical cooperation and expertise for the installation of refill stations.

Kishiwada City declared its 'Kishiwada Zero Plastic Waste Declaration' in May 2019 and has been actively involved in initiatives such as 'Osaka My Bottle Partners' to reduce plastic waste. With this new agreement, the city expects to see wider use of refillable bottles as residents gain easier access to water at public facilities.

### Waterstand's 'Bottle-Free Project'

Guided by a mission to reduce 3 billion single-use plastic bottles, the company is advancing its 'Bottle-Free Project' with local governments across Japan. By utilizing readily available tap water and establishing refill stations with a lower environmental footprint, the project strives to achieve a balance between climate change mitigation through reduced plastic waste and climate change adaptation through health improvements and heatstroke prevention.
