Waterstand Inc. (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture; President: Hitoshi Honda), a provider of water purification server rentals, announced that it signed an agreement with Wako City, Saitama Prefecture (Mayor: Mitsuko Shibasaki) on April 1, 2026, regarding initiatives for realizing a zero-carbon city, heatstroke prevention, and the promotion of child-rearing support. This agreement was concluded to foster collaboration between Wako City and Waterstand Inc. to reduce plastic waste, promote hydration as a heatstroke countermeasure, and improve nursing and formula preparation environments for child-rearing support. By utilizing water refill stations compatible with personal bottles at the city hall, the initiative aims to raise awareness among visitors and staff about using personal bottles, thereby curbing the use of disposable plastics such as PET bottles. Additionally, from the perspective of heatstroke prevention, the project will encourage proper hydration and provide information on water supply environments suitable for preparing baby formula. Wako City will be responsible for disseminating information both inside and outside the city, while Waterstand Inc. will contribute to the realization of sustainable and people-friendly public spaces by providing expertise, technology, and support for the installation and maintenance of water dispensers.
