The solo exhibition "Harumichi Shibasaki Art Exhibition 2026 Tokyo" by watercolor artist Harumichi Shibasaki, who boasts over 4 million total social media followers, will be held for six days from July 23 (Thu) to July 28 (Tue), 2026, at Hilltopia Art Square in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo. This will be his solo exhibition in Tokyo, approximately one year after his exhibition at the same venue in 2025. The exhibition will feature many of his latest works, including transparent watercolors, acrylic paintings, and art crayon pieces. Overview

Harumichi Shibasaki, known as "Grandpa Teacher" for his popular 4-panel manga series "It won't turn out that way!", was born in 1947. While working as an art instructor for many years, he has held solo exhibitions and continued to present his work for nearly 30 years, based in Ginza and Kyobashi. He has been publishing videos of his artwork creation process on YouTube and TikTok, and his YouTube channel currently has over 2.1 million subscribers. His total number of followers across all social media platforms exceeds 4 million (as of June 2026).

This exhibition in Tokyo is being held approximately one year after the previous one (2025) at the same venue (Hilltopia Art Square). Please experience firsthand the warmth and breath of the original artworks, which cannot be conveyed through a screen – the transparent colors unique to watercolors, the delicate gradations, and the gentle touch of each brushstroke. Mr. Shibasaki will be present at the venue every day during the exhibition, providing a valuable opportunity to interact directly with visitors.

Hello, this is Shibasaki. How are you? I was at the same Hilltopia Art Square in 2025 and had many wonderful encounters with all of you. I can't forget those warm memories, and I am very happy to have this opportunity to meet you again in Tokyo.

This time, I plan to exhibit many new works, including my latest transparent watercolors, acrylic paintings, and art crayon pieces. My paintings aim to capture the beauty of nature and the fleeting moments of everyday life, expressing the warmth and tranquility I feel within them. I hope that all visitors will feel such inspiration and healing through my works. He is active in various fields, including as an NHK art instructor and through solo exhibitions.
