WaterAid Japan, a Specified Non-Profit Organization and international NGO specializing in water and sanitation (Location: Sumida Ward, Tokyo; Director: Hiroaki Komei), has been selected as a supported organization for the Public Interest Incorporated Association AC Japan's 2026 Support Campaign. Starting July 1, 2026, WaterAid's advertisements will be broadcast and published in unpaid ad spaces on newspapers, television, radio, train stations, and trains.
The Public Interest Incorporated Association AC Japan was established with the aim of improving public awareness through advertising activities for the public good, contributing to social progress and public welfare. It is a CSR activity where private companies and organizations pool their resources to convey socially beneficial messages in the form of advertisements.
WaterAid Japan was selected as a supported organization for the support campaigns from fiscal year 2018 to fiscal year 2020, and its advertisements were run for three years. Now, it has been newly selected for the 2026 Support Campaign, and the support campaign will commence on July 1.
"Clean Water Changes the Flow"
This advertisement was created with the desire to convey not only the harsh realities and challenges of not having access to clean water, but also the positive changes that occur when water becomes available, and the virtuous cycle that begins with water.
Actress Hana Kuroki has kindly cooperated as the narrator for the TV and radio commercials. Furthermore, traditional musical instruments from South Asia, including Bangladesh, were used for the music produced for the TV and radio commercials, with their impressive tones coloring the works.
The TV commercials (15 seconds, 30 seconds) are also available on the "AC Japan Official Channel" on YouTube.

Having access to clean water means more than just obtaining safe drinking water. It protects people from disease, frees them from the burden of fetching water, expands opportunities for education and social participation, changes the flow of life, and opens the door to a new future. For 45 years since its establishment, WaterAid has witnessed such changes in various parts of the world.
Komola, who appears in this advertisement, is a woman from an ethnic minority living in a rural area of Bangladesh and a mother of one child. Since her village gained access to clean water, Komola is now responsible for maintaining the village's water supply system. While working with pride for her village, her life has begun to change significantly as she is now able to earn income from sewing.
Through this support campaign, we have high expectations that WaterAid's activities in the water and sanitation sector will become known to more people, marking a new step towards realizing a world where everyone can access clean water.
