Rikuzentakata Watami Organic Land Participates in "Kizuna Day Commemorative Exchange Event" by Nagoya City and Rikuzentakata City – Event-Limited Hamburgers Sold Out Due to Popularity!

Watami Organic Land Co., Ltd. (Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, hereinafter "Watami Organic Land"), a subsidiary of Watami Co., Ltd. (Ota Ward, Tokyo, hereinafter "Watami"), participated in the "Kizuna Day Commemorative Exchange Event" co-hosted by Nagoya City and Rikuzentakata City, held in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture on March 20.

March 23, the day Nagoya City dispatched staff to Rikuzentakata City after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, has been designated as "Kizuna Day," and various events are held annually. The purpose of this event is to widely promote the friendly relationship between the two cities, allow Nagoya citizens to experience the charm of Rikuzentakata City, and contribute to raising disaster prevention awareness.

On the day of the event, within the Rikuzentakata City Product Exhibition, event-limited hamburgers made with Rikuzentakata-grown shiitake mushrooms and wakame seaweed were sold, conveying the appeal of Rikuzentakata City's rich land and sea bounty to visitors. The prepared hamburgers sold out and were very well received.

Watami Organic Land will continue to actively participate in events both within and outside the city to promote the appeal of Rikuzentakata City and Iwate Prefecture. We will continue to contribute to the reconstruction of the affected areas and regional revitalization.

■About the Agricultural Theme Park "Rikuzentakata Watami Organic Land"

"Rikuzentakata Watami Organic Land" is an agricultural theme park themed around an organic and circular society, which opened in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture on April 29, 2021. In cooperation with Rikuzentakata City, there are plans to gradually increase various facilities over the next 20 years on a vast site of approximately 23 hectares (equivalent to five Tokyo Domes), including farms, ranches, an outdoor music hall, and power generation facilities. Furthermore, by producing agricultural products, processing them, and handling sales, Watami Group will embody its circular 6th industry model utilizing renewable energy.
