Washinmura in Chiba Launches Exclusive 'Wild Firefly Viewing Tour' for Guests from June 1

Washinmura, a glamping facility located in the rural landscapes of Futtsu, Chiba Prefecture, is hosting its annual wild firefly viewing tour again this year.

For a limited time from June 1 to July 15, we are offering the 'Firefly Viewing Tour', a special accommodation plan where guests can observe wild fireflies.

* Guests can participate regardless of their booked accommodation plan, as long as they stay during the period.
* No prior reservation is required to join the firefly tour.

The 'Firefly Viewing Tour' allows guests to observe wild fireflies inhabiting the area around Washinmura while enjoying a nighttime stroll.
Experience the magical light of fireflies, which can only be seen for about a month a year in the rural areas of Chiba Prefecture.
Enjoying firefly viewing while staying at a glamping facility is a unique offering of Washinmura.

Take a lantern and feel like a little explorer as you walk along country roads at night to view wild fireflies in nearby rice fields.
This special experience in an environment surrounded by nature has been very well received.

■ A 10-Minute Walk to the Firefly Spot, Guided by Staff for Peace of Mind.
The tour gathers every night at 8:00 PM and departs at 8:05 PM. Our staff will guide guests to the rice fields near local houses, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.

The firefly spot is about a 10-minute walk away.
Arrive at 8:15 PM and spend some time enveloped in the elegant light of wild fireflies.
Hopefully, a firefly might even land on your hand.
Depart for Washinmura at 8:30 PM, arriving and dispersing at 8:40 PM.

■ Important Notes for Viewing Wild Fireflies
Please be careful not to speak loudly during the firefly viewing,
as there are local residences nearby.
Additionally, fireflies are very delicate creatures.
If you touch them, please be gentle, and return them to nature after viewing.

Depending on the weather and habitat conditions, there is a possibility that fireflies may not be visible or the tour may be canceled. As this is an event dependent on nature, we ask for your understanding.
