Saburomaru Distillery has been producing whisky since 1952 and underwent a major renovation in 2017. In recent years, it has expanded its facilities to include a distillery restaurant, a regenerative cooperage called Re:COOPERAGE, a blender & workshop room, and a hand-fill room — all designed to offer visitors a 'five-senses' experience and one-of-a-kind encounters. As a result, the distillery recorded approximately 45,000 visitors in fiscal year 2025 (according to Wakatsuru Shuzo), the highest ever. Going forward, the distillery aims to continue growing as a visitor destination, and through participation in the 'Japanese Whisky Passport Copper Stamp Book,' contribute to revitalizing local industry and tourism in Toyama, as well as the further development of Japan's whisky industry.
