(President and CEO: Hirokazu Sako, Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which operates "Waku to Dekiru PC Classrooms," is pleased to announce that we held a "Smartphone Safety Seminar" within our PC classrooms to promote the safe use of smartphones, in cooperation with the Metropolitan Police Department's Komatsugawa Police Station and Cybersecurity Countermeasures Division.

◆ Background of the Event
In recent years, fraud victims using smartphones have increased nationwide, with seniors being particularly severely affected. Smartphones have become indispensable tools for daily communication and information gathering, yet many seniors experience anxiety about not being able to use them proficiently or fear becoming victims of fraud.
We, as a local classroom, have been contemplating how we could contribute to enabling our community members to enjoy digital devices with peace of mind. Consequently, we have now arranged for cooperation from the Komatsugawa Police Station and the Metropolitan Police Department's Cybersecurity Countermeasures Division, leading to the organization of the "Smartphone Safety Seminar."

◆ Seminar Content
The "Smartphone Safety Seminar" was held on March 19, 2026, at our directly managed school, "La Park Mizue School" (Edogawa-ku, Tokyo). This free seminar, aimed at crime prevention awareness and community contribution, was promoted to and attended by our students as well as local residents.

The seminar was conducted by staff from the Metropolitan Police Department's Cybersecurity Countermeasures Division, who provided explanations of the sophisticated tactics used in recent SNS and internet scams, such as investment fraud, phishing, LINE account hijacking, and support scams, and discussed self-prevention measures.

◆ Participant Feedback
Following the seminar, participants were surveyed. The results indicated that the most helpful topics included "Precautions when using smartphones," "Recently increasing scam tactics," and "Examples of SNS troubles." Regarding concerns about smartphone use, many participants chose "Scams and suspicious SNS" and "Personal information safety."
