Wacom Donates 8 Pen Tablets to Japan Heart NPO

Wacom Co., Ltd. has donated 8 pen tablets, "Wacom® Intuos® Medium," to the NPO Japan Heart (Taito-ku, Tokyo, Chairperson: Haruna Yoshioka). The donated products will be delivered to "Dream Train," a children's facility operated by the organization in Myanmar, where they will be utilized for the children's creative activities. Furthermore, a workshop utilizing the donated products was held in May 2026.

Japan Heart is an NPO that has provided free medical services both domestically and internationally, primarily in Southeast Asia, for over 20 years. In addition to medical support, they aim to build a society where children can live better lives through support for daily living, education, and employment.

This initiative came about through discussions about the potential for support through "drawing," sparked by sharing how the children living at Dream Train enjoy drawing in their daily lives.

■ Supporting Children's Creative Activities at Dream Train

The donated pen tablets are being used at Dream Train to provide children with opportunities to enjoy creative expression and explore the creative field as a potential future career path.

Dream Train is a children's facility established in Yangon, Myanmar, in 2010 to support the lives, education, and employment of children orphaned by HIV and those from impoverished families. They provide long-term support with a focus on the children's future, and in recent years, the first child from the facility has entered art university.

However, due to the unstable situation and living environment locally, children continue to study under limited lighting and face difficulties in freely going outside. In such circumstances, the pen tablets are expected to serve as tools for children to immerse themselves in creative work with peace of mind and to spend time engaging with themselves.

■ Workshop Held Using Donated Products

In May 2026, a "Creative Spark Workshop" was held for the children living at Dream Train. Twenty children, aged 9 to 18, were divided into four groups and learned digital drawing using the donated pen tablets. An artist active in Myanmar also participated as an instructor, sharing their experiences in their work and creative endeavors.

Wacom, under its promise to deliver "Life-long Ink" – a "journey of drawing experiences" – aims to support the "drawing" experiences of all people. Moving forward, Wacom will continue to support children's creativity and learning opportunities through "drawing."
