New Service "SCANBE base" Launched to Visualize Exercise and Training Results in 3D! Available at Sports Gyms and Healthcare Facilities for All Genders

Wacoal Corp. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; President and CEO: Keisuke Kawanishi) will sequentially begin offering its 3D measurement service "SCANBE base" (SCANBE Base), designed for use in sports gyms and healthcare facilities, starting July 1, 2026 (Wed).

In recent years, the importance of exercise habits has gained social attention, driven by growing awareness of issues related to lack of exercise due to lifestyle changes and increasing interest in extending healthy life expectancy. In particular, expectations are rising for personalized healthcare services utilizing PHR (Personal Health Record), which are individual health and medical data, with the PHR service market projected to grow to approximately 1 trillion yen by 2030 (※). However, current widely used data such as body composition, weight, and calorie consumption make it difficult to perceive changes in body appearance, leading to challenges in driving daily behavioral changes and sustained efforts.

Against this backdrop, Wacoal has developed "SCANBE base" based on over 60 years of human body measurement expertise accumulated at the Wacoal Human Science Research and Development Center and the know-how cultivated with "SCANBE." This service allows users to grasp changes in appearance, previously perceived intuitively, as concrete numerical data such as 3D data, volume, and circumference. Furthermore, by taking measurements periodically, users can compare them with past data and view body shape changes on a time-series graph. The service can be used by any gender, and measurements can be taken while wearing form-fitting apparel like training wear, allowing for seamless integration before or after workouts. The 3D scan takes approximately 3 seconds, and the entire experience is completed in about 10 minutes. Measurement results can also be checked on a smartphone.

Moving forward, Wacoal plans to expand the service by considering installation not only in sports gyms but also in sports retailers, sports organizations, local governments, and research institutions, aiming to create new services and expand value in the sports and healthcare domains.

This is an experiential service that visualizes body shape and size using 3D data, allowing users to visually confirm the results of their daily exercise and training. Changes in appearance, previously perceived intuitively, can be grasped as concrete numerical data such as full 360-degree 3D data, volume, and circumference. Furthermore, periodic measurements allow for comparison with past data. By continuously checking the degree and trend of changes, it supports motivation maintenance and behavioral improvement.

Measurement Method: Enter the scanner while wearing form-fitting apparel such as training wear, and perform a self-3D scan.

*Measurements can be taken regardless of gender or age. However, accurate measurements may not be possible for individuals under 110cm or over 200cm in height.

[About "SCANBE"]

With the concept of "Know yourself, become yourself," this service uses a 3D body scanner for a 3-second self-measurement, allowing users to see a 360-degree 3D image of their body, obtain measurement data for 20 points on the entire body, understand body type characteristics, and know their innerwear size. Launched in 2019, it has been introduced in approximately 30 stores nationwide, primarily in innerwear sections. As of the end of April 2026, over 350,000 customers have experienced it (※). Furthermore, in 2025, it was adopted for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's PHR project and exhibited at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.

In addition to the 3D measurement service, it offers [My Bra Type Diagnosis], which identifies the type of bra that fits your body in 10 minutes based on measurement results, and as paid services, [My Skeleton Diagnosis] for AI-based skeletal diagnosis and [Body Balance Diagnosis] for posture level and balance type.
