On June 25–28, 2026, during the 'Saha Group Fair & Fest 2026' held in Bangkok, Thailand, W TOKYO signed a Strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shop Global Co., Ltd., a digital commerce company under Thailand's leading conglomerate Saha Group, to realize 'TGC in Thailand'. As a showcase project under this MOU, W TOKYO launched 'Sumitomo Corporation presents TGC in Thailand 2026' with Sumitomo Corporation as the title sponsor.

Strategic MOU Signed with Saha Group’s Shop Global Co., Ltd.

On June 27, 2026 (Saturday), during the event, W TOKYO and Shop Global Co., Ltd. formalized their strategic MOU to launch 'TGC in Thailand'.

Shop Global Co., Ltd. operates under the Saha Group, one of Thailand’s most prominent conglomerates, and specializes in e-commerce, live commerce, creator commerce, and digital marketing.

The MOU aims to introduce 'TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION (TGC)' as a fashion and entertainment platform in Thailand, establishing a long-term business foundation that connects Japanese and Thai culture, creativity, media, brands, IP, content, and commerce. This initiative is positioned as a market entry and validation phase, serving as a showcase project to assess brand awareness, sponsor demand, and market response. Moving forward, W TOKYO plans to create new business opportunities linking Japanese and Thai enterprises, brands, creators, and IP, while building a sustainable business model through licensing and sponsorship for the full-scale launch of 'TGC in Thailand'.

At the MOU signing ceremony, H.E. Masato Ohdaka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Thailand, delivered a congratulatory address. He referenced the upcoming 140th anniversary of Japan-Thailand diplomatic relations in 2027, expressing hopes for enhanced cultural exchange between the two nations.

W TOKYO views this project as the first step toward celebrating the 140th anniversary of Japan-Thailand friendship, aiming to develop a co-creation platform that connects businesses, brands, creators, IP, and content between the two countries, contributing to the further development of their creative industries.

'Sumitomo Corporation presents TGC in Thailand 2026' Showcase Event

Following successful overseas expansions in Jakarta, Indonesia (July 2025) and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (March 2026), this event marks the third ASEAN initiative. Held within the 'Saha Group Fair & Fest 2026', it served as a showcase project toward the full launch of 'TGC in Thailand'.

With Sumitomo Corporation as title sponsor, and supported by Sheene × GG, Wacoal, Green Carbon, Lumera, and DAISO, leading brands from Japan and Thailand participated.

Over four days, the 'TGC in Thailand Booth' featured diverse exhibitors, including 'SHEENE × GG'—a collaboration between Thailand’s heritage cosmetics brand SHEENE and popular actress Gubgib Smongthip—'Kyumme', a TGC and DAISO co-produced cosmetics brand, Wacoal, Green Carbon, and the Lumera × FURYU print sticker machine. The booth also hosted a cosplay runway event and a photo session with PSYCHIC FEVER after their main stage performance, attracting large crowds.

On June 27 (Saturday), the 'TGC in Thailand Stage' was held on the main stage. Through video presentations, the stage introduced TGC’s history, mission, and appeal in Japan. Thai celebrity actress Gubgib Smongthip joined as a guest for a special talk session.

Additionally, PSYCHIC FEVER, a Japanese performance group frequently featured at TGC, made an appearance. Having spent nearly six months in Thailand shortly after their 2022 debut and now active globally across ASEAN, the group delivered a 30-minute live performance featuring their new song 'I Got Ways' from their upcoming album 'DIFFERENT', set for release on July 10. The audience responded with enthusiastic singalongs, and during the post-performance talk, the group shared memories of past TGC appearances and expressed excitement for 'TGC in Thailand', symbolizing the project’s role in connecting Japan and Thailand.

W TOKYO continues to promote the global expansion of Japanese brand IP, content IP, and creator IP through the 'shareable platform TGC'.

Going forward, through co-creation with local partners and Japanese enterprises, W TOKYO will support Japanese brands’ overseas expansion and strive to build a new cultural platform connecting Japan with the world, further advancing Japanese IP globally.
