E10 Higashi-Kyushu Expressway (Kitakyushu City - Miyazaki City) Celebrates its 10th Anniversary of Opening

The Kyushu Branch of NEXCO West Japan is pleased to announce that on Friday, April 24, 2026, the E10 Higashi-Kyushu Expressway (Kitakyushu City to Miyazaki City) will celebrate its 10th anniversary of opening. We have compiled a report on the role the expressway has played and its development effects.

Furthermore, the Kyushu Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, along with our company and the Kyushu Branch of West Nippon Expressway Service Holdings Company Limited, will hold events to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the E10 Higashi-Kyushu Expressway's opening. 1. Looking Back on 10 Years (Development Effects)

The E10 Higashi-Kyushu Expressway connected Kitakyushu City to Miyazaki City with a single north-south highway on April 24, 2016, with the opening of the Shiida-minami Interchange (IC) to Buzen IC section.

The E10 Higashi-Kyushu Expressway has produced development effects such as revitalizing local industries, changing tourism trends, and contributing to regional healthcare, supporting the economy and lives of the areas along the route.

2. Commemorative Events

At the Beppu Bay Service Area (SA: towards Miyazaki) and roadside stations (michi-no-eki) along the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway, we will hold exhibitions of panels on the 10th-anniversary development effects, distribute commemorative goods, and sell limited-edition products.

*With some exceptions, the commemorative events will be held at Beppu Bay SA (downhill line), but customers using Beppu Bay SA (uphill line: towards Kitakyushu) can also walk to the downhill line via the promenade.

**① Development Effect Panel Exhibition** We will exhibit panels summarizing the development effects generated by the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway. Exhibition Period: Wednesday, April 1 – Friday, April 24 Exhibition Locations: ・Beppu Bay SA (downhill line: towards Miyazaki) indoor store space ・Roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki Buzen Okoshikake, Michi-no-Eki Kamae, Michi-no-Eki Kitagawa Hayuma, etc.)

**② Higashi-Kyushu Expressway (Kitakyushu City - Miyazaki City) 10th Anniversary Commemorative Goods Giveaway** Customers who visit the development effect panel exhibition will receive special goods commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Higashi-Kyushu Expressway's opening. Date and Time: Saturday, April 18, 10:00 - 15:00 *Ends when goods run out. Location: Beppu Bay SA (downhill line: towards Miyazaki) in front of the outdoor restaurant building *In case of rain, the event will be held indoors.
