NEXCO West Japan Kyushu Branch announces that on Friday, April 24, 2026, the E10 Higashi Kyushu Expressway (Kitakyushu City to Miyazaki City) will celebrate its 10th anniversary. We will look back on the role the Higashi Kyushu Expressway has played and present its development effects.
Additionally, the Kyushu Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, along with our company and the Kyushu Branch of Nishinihon Expressway Service Holdings Co., Ltd., will hold events to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the E10 Higashi Kyushu Expressway's opening. We look forward to your visit.
## 1. Looking Back on the 10th Anniversary (Development Effects)
The E10 Higashi Kyushu Expressway saw its first section, Shiida-Minami Interchange (IC) to Buzen IC, open on April 24, 2016, establishing a continuous north-south highway connecting Kitakyushu City to Miyazaki City.
The E10 Higashi Kyushu Expressway has generated development effects such as the revitalization of regional industries, changes in tourism trends, and contributions to regional healthcare, supporting the economy and lives of the communities along its route.

At the Beppu Bay Service Area (SA: Miyazaki direction) and roadside stations along the Higashi Kyushu Expressway, we will hold events including exhibitions of panel displays on the 10th anniversary development effects, distribution of commemorative goods, and sales of limited-edition products.
* Except for some parts, the commemorative event will be held at Beppu Bay SA (downhill). Customers using Beppu Bay SA (uphill: Kitakyushu direction) can also walk to the downhill area via a promenade.

Holding Date and Time: Saturday, April 18th, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
