■Overview of The Nippon Foundation Volunteer Center (Nippon Foundation Volasen)

Nippon Foundation Volasen was established in 2010 as NPO Japan Student Volunteer Center, starting its support for student volunteer activities. By March 2022, it had dispatched over 12,000 students to areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In 2021, it changed its name to "The Nippon Foundation Volunteer Center" and has been implementing volunteer-related projects targeting a wide range of generations, not just students. It was involved in training and development projects for volunteers at the Tokyo 2020 Games, and subsequently in volunteer training and support for volunteer organizations at major events such as the World Athletics Championships. It has also concluded cooperation agreements related to volunteer activities with 120 universities nationwide. The number of registered users on its operated volunteer platform site "Bokatsu!" has reached approximately 55,000 in five years since its launch.
