Value Management Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka, Osaka; President and CEO: Jun Takhirino; hereinafter "the Company") announces that its restaurant 'Kyoto Gyoen Nakadachimikado-mon Higaki,' operated in partnership with Hokodo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe, Hyogo; President and CEO: Keiko Iwahata; hereinafter "Hokodo"), will begin offering a breakfast menu starting July 1, 2026. In conjunction with this, the restaurant will open two hours earlier, welcoming guests from 8:00 a.m.
About Breakfast Service
'Kyoto Gyoen Nakadachimikado-mon Higaki,' which opened in May this year under the concept of 'A Showcase of Japanese Culture Opening to the Imperial Garden,' has received favorable reviews for its menu featuring traditional Japanese cuisine and Kyoto's food culture, attracting many visitors since its opening.
Starting July 1, the restaurant will offer breakfast from 8:00 a.m., providing a premium breakfast experience that takes advantage of the refreshing morning air of Kyoto Gyoen and the unique location with terrace seating offering views of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. While many tourists and local residents begin their days early in Kyoto, there remains strong demand for high-quality breakfast venues within the city. This initiative aims to meet these needs. Additionally, by expanding operations into the early morning hours, the restaurant hopes to contribute to dispersing tourist activity throughout the day, helping to alleviate congestion during peak hours and addressing broader tourism challenges in Kyoto.
Furthermore, the café menu developed in collaboration with Hokodo—a Kyoto Uji tea company established in the Tamba era and operator of Japan's oldest coffee shop—will also be available from 8:00 a.m. This will enhance the restaurant into a destination where guests can enjoy a special morning moment surrounded by the beautiful natural setting of the Imperial Garden.
* Breakfast Menu (Starting July 1)
From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., a limited breakfast menu will be offered, featuring dishes inspired by Kyoto's culinary traditions and Japanese cuisine.
