Visual Bank Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO Masayuki Nagai), through its subsidiary Amana Images, has begun offering the "Japanese Detached House Exterior Image Dataset" as part of its AI learning data solution "Qlean Dataset". This dataset is optimized for improving object recognition accuracy using computer vision and for learning image models aimed at spatial understanding specialized in Japanese residential environments.

This dataset consists of exterior images of detached houses taken in real Japanese environments, along with metadata related to the surrounding environment. It covers detached houses in diverse areas across Japan, such as residential neighborhoods and suburbs, encompassing their shapes, exterior textures, and roof structures. It is suitable for building models that identify specific architectural styles and for research and development in complex landscape analysis based on Japanese urban planning. By deeply learning visual characteristics in real-world scenarios—such as road conditions specific to residential areas, proximity to adjacent structures, and changes in light due to time of day and weather—it enables advanced image recognition that grasps context.

This data is provided as part of "AI Data Recipes," Qlean Dataset's original lineup of data for AI development, and is envisioned for use in practical AI development phases, ranging from the automation of real estate appraisals to the implementation of environmental recognition for autonomous driving and delivery robots in residential areas.

Visual Bank and Amana Images will continue to support the research and development of AI that accurately understands and analyzes Japanese residential environments by providing image and structural data that captures Japan's physical assets.
