The Organization for Promoting the Motion Picture Industry (VIPO) (Representative Director: Takamasa Matsutani, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has launched the series drama planning overseas pitching support program "Japan Drama First Look: Co-Pro Pitch" in May. This program aims to diversify funding for international co-production and production costs with overseas broadcasters and distributors, as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' FY2026 "Survey on Diversification of Real Content Financing" project.
This program offers opportunities to pitch Japanese series drama projects at three major international content markets representing Asia and Europe: "BCWW (South Korea)" (application closed in June), "TCCF (Taiwan)," and "Series Mania (France)," along with providing training for these pitches.
As the second initiative, we are opening applications on July 2 (Thu) for opportunities to pitch 10 Japanese series drama projects at "TCCF (Taiwan Creative Content Fest)," Asia's largest international creative content market, to be held in Taiwan from November 6 (Fri) to 9 (Mon), 2026.
We welcome applications from producers and directors aiming for international co-production and funding with overseas broadcasters and distributors.
