The Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) (Representative Director: Takamasa Matsutani, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a non-profit organization, has conducted a call for applications for a project to subsidize expenses related to the translation and creation of proposals and the translation of samples necessary for sales and negotiations for licensing Japanese books overseas, as part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' "Promotion of Global Expansion of Print Culture Project" for FY2026. The adoption results by the selection committee are announced as attached.

FY2026 Agency for Cultural Affairs "Promotion of Global Expansion of Print Culture Project" To disseminate and promote Japan's diverse and rich print culture overseas, this project discovers and cultivates translators who will form the foundation for overseas dissemination, and promotes the overseas expansion of works by publishers and others.
