Vegetables that are perfectly edible are being thrown away simply because their shape is slightly different.

Items that should be delicious are denied value solely because they are labeled "substandard." We felt that this reality was wrong.

Blue Blossom Co., Ltd. utilizes substandard vegetables from Hokkaido to create new value in the form of pound cakes and rusks.

While cherishing the natural flavor of the ingredients, we manufacture each item by hand and deliver them through events and e-commerce.

We are also focusing on initiatives that combine food and education, such as product development projects with high school students.

Our Dream

We aim for a society where the word "substandard" is no longer necessary.

It should be the norm to be chosen for what is inside, not for how it looks. We want the true value of food to be properly delivered and for ingredients to be utilized without waste.

And we want the "mottainai" (wasteful) feeling for one person to turn into "delicious" or "happy" for someone else.

We want to create a future from Hokkaido where such a cycle naturally spreads throughout society.

Why we are taking on this challenge

We are a small, family-run company. While facing "food" as an extension of our daily lives, we have always valued the ingredients right in front of us and our connections with people.

This business began with the feeling of "mottainai" after learning the reality that vegetables carefully grown by farmers were being discarded.

Future Initiatives

Currently, we are focusing on the production and sale of baked goods using substandard vegetables, and we are expanding sales opportunities both within and outside of Hokkaido.

Moving forward, we will deliver value to more people through: - Strengthening partnerships with farmers - Expanding product development projects with schools - Developing new products through collaborations with other companies
