Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, and uyet Collaborate on VTuber Bus Tours and Business Experience Events

uyet Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Hiroki Kajita), an "IP content general trading company" that creates new distribution in Japan and globally through VTubers and IP content, will once again collaborate with Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture, to implement a city promotion project utilizing VTubers, following last year's initiative.

From July 1 to the end of October, specific plans include a collaboration with local sightseeing bus tours organized by Niimi City, a collaboration with Kyosei High School in Okayama Prefecture, and business experience events in cooperation with local businesses. Through these initiatives, we aim to promote the appeal of Niimi City's tourist attractions and specialty products, attract tourists, and encourage relocation and settlement, thereby increasing the number of related individuals.

About the Machi Super Chat Project

The "Machi Super Chat Project" aims to help VTuber fans, primarily those in their teens and twenties, discover "cities they can root for" that can become their second or third hometown. Through content such as manga and videos that promote the charm of regions, we will contribute to "regional revitalization" and "expansion of hometown tax donations."

To date, the project has been implemented in a total of 8 municipalities, including Niimi City in Okayama Prefecture, Hachimantai City in Iwate Prefecture, Hokota City in Ibaraki Prefecture, Kitakata City in Fukushima Prefecture, Tamana City in Kumamoto Prefecture, Tarui Town in Gifu Prefecture, Tsurui Village in Hokkaido, and Kawaguchi City in Saitama Prefecture.

1. VTuber Appearance Bus Tour Project

While touring Niimi City's tourist spots by bus, VTubers will introduce the charms of Niimi City, including its tourist attractions and specialty products. The VTuber, shown on a monitor inside the bus, will act as a real-time tour guide, introducing Niimi City's attractions while participants can enjoy communication with the VTuber. Applications for the bus tour project are scheduled to begin in mid-July.

2. Collaboration Project with Kyosei High School, Okayama Prefecture

In collaboration with Kyosei High School in Okayama Prefecture, which established Japan's first esports club, we will implement a collaborative project with VTubers. The details of the project are currently under discussion.

3. Experience Event with Local Businesses "Real Quest"

We will conduct business experiences in cooperation with "Yumesuki Park," known for its "Oya-Mago Water Wheels," the best in Japan, located in Niimi City. The details of the project are currently under discussion.

4. Live Stream Featuring VTuber Appearance

VTubers will conduct live streams on their own YouTube channels in July. The content of the streams will include introductions to the "VTuber Appearance Bus Tour Project" scheduled for October and the charms of Niimi City.

5. Exhibition at FAN2026

To make more people aware of the "Machi Super Chat Project" initiatives in Niimi City, we will display panels introducing our past efforts with Niimi City at the regional revitalization event "FAN2026" (https://sites.google.com/smart.jcci.or.jp/fanniimi/) held by Niimi City on October 24 (Sat).

Message from the Mayor of Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture

This is Mayor Ishida of Niimi City. As part of the "Machi Super Chat Project" that promotes regional charm through "VTuber x Local Regions," we will be holding the "Niimi City Hometown Citizen Niimi-to Tour" in collaboration with VTubers, using Niimi City as the stage, once again this year. Continuing from last year, we are planning a tour in collaboration with VTuber Shigure Mito, who will introduce our city's "recommended spots" such as "Rashomon," as well as specialty products like "Chiya Beef," our "recommended gourmet food," from her unique perspective. Furthermore, this year, as a new initiative, "Nanahoshi Nana," who is active as an esports caster VTuber, will also participate. We will challenge ourselves with unprecedented initiatives, such as a collaborative project with Kyosei High School in Okayama Prefecture (Esports Club), known as a pioneer in high school esports in Japan. Through the tours and live streams, we hope to provide opportunities for everyone to feel closer to Niimi City and fully experience its rich nature and cuisine. We are preparing the tours with the aim that through our collaboration with Mito and Nana, Niimi City will be experienced by everyone as a "city to root for," and we look forward to the participation of many people.
