Kasumi Releases Vegetable-Packed Bento Developed with Kashima Junior High School, Ibaraki Prefecture, and Kashima Antlers

Kasumi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tsukuba City; President and CEO: Fumitaka Orimoto) will sell bento meals designed by junior high school students from June 26th (Fri) to 28th (Sun), 2026, in collaboration with Kashima Municipal Kashima Junior High School, Ibaraki Prefecture, and the J1 soccer club Kashima Antlers.

Kasumi, in partnership with Ibaraki Prefecture and Kashima Antlers, has been conducting the 'Vegetable-Packed Bento Project' with students from Kashima Junior High School. This project is part of the students' practical learning during integrated studies, where they learn about health issues in Ibaraki Prefecture and create menus that allow for an abundant intake of vegetables.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare recommends a daily vegetable intake of at least '350g.' This is equivalent to three light, heaped handfuls of raw vegetables or three handfuls of cooked vegetables. In this project, the students designed a bento that provides one-third of this daily recommended vegetable intake.

After approximately one year of discussions and multiple rounds of prototyping with the students, we are pleased to announce the sale of two types of 'vegetable-packed bento' at all Kasumi stores (excluding some locations).
