(Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Masaharu Honma; hereinafter 'Maruetsu') and Kasumi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tsukuba, Ibaraki; President and Representative Director: Fumitaka Orimoto; hereinafter 'Kasumi'), have been certified as 'Excellent Food Education Practice Corporations 2026' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, an honor recognizing companies that actively engage in food education for their employees.

About the 'Excellent Food Education Practice Corporation Recognition System'

With the rise of food externalization and a preference for convenience, alongside a decrease in the consumption of vegetables and fruits among young people, the disruption of dietary habits among adults has become a significant issue. Consequently, there is a growing need to promote 'food education for adults,' particularly among the younger generation who will lead society in the future.

The 'Excellent Food Education Practice Corporation Recognition System' was established in July 2025 to honor companies that implement and evaluate initiatives aimed at improving dietary habits, such as providing healthy meals to employees. The goal is to boost corporate vitality and promote the horizontal expansion of these best practices.

Maruetsu and Kasumi aim to have their employees adopt good dietary and exercise habits, work on building physical and mental health, and become pillars of support for food and health within their local communities. To achieve this, they utilize the health portal site 'PepUp' to establish exercise routines, hold health-related seminars for employees, and provide specific health guidance by registered dietitians for eligible individuals.
