Urban Research Co., Ltd. is launching a new initiative led by young buyers titled 'FUTURE LAB. by URBAN RESEARCH.'
As the first project under this initiative, a limited-time pop-up shop will be held at NEWoMan Yokohama starting Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The theme of this launch is 'Back to rack.'
Reviving the value hidden in storage through the fresh perspective of young buyers and returning it to wardrobes.
Young buyers will shine a new light on archived products stored in the company’s warehouse, reinterpreting them as modern fashion statements. This is not simply a clearance sale, but a new sustainability approach—giving timeless fashion value a second life by returning it to the rack.
Additionally, this project serves as a training ground for young buyers.
Through researching and curating archived items, they will develop their buying acumen and styling skills by reinterpreting past pieces with contemporary sensibilities—providing practical experience to nurture the next generation of talent.
Project Background: Reducing Fashion Waste and Co-Creating the Future
Urban Research aims to achieve zero waste for its in-house apparel and fashion accessories by 2030. This project was launched as part of its efforts to maximize product value and meet that goal.
Returning to the brand’s founding principle—'Step into the urban landscape, and you’ll discover new ideas. Research begins there'—young staff members personally investigated the warehouse, selecting pieces that shine in today’s context.
Theme: Back to Rack
Hidden gems and past masterpieces that align with current trends are handpicked through the unique aesthetic lens of young buyers. By integrating past collections into today’s styling, the project promotes the joy of long-lasting, meaningful fashion.
Pop-Up Overview
This pop-up will coincide with 'EthiCarnival' at NEWoMan Yokohama, serving as a platform to promote eco-conscious lifestyles.
Beyond this project, Urban Research is actively engaged in various resource circulation initiatives.
Sustainable Material Use: Actively incorporating low-environmental-impact materials.
Circular Systems: Promoting reuse and recycling through programs like 'Furugi Baton' and 'commpost.'
'FUTURE LAB.' aims to accelerate these efforts, becoming a platform where customers co-create a sustainable fashion future.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
