Starting Monday, March 9, 2026, URBAN RESEARCH Co., Ltd. will adopt the non-woven packaging material "RETEXPET®" from S.P.Pack Co., Ltd. at stores operating under the URBAN RESEARCH brand.

The newly adopted "RETEXPET®" is an environmentally friendly material independently developed by S.P.Pack Co., Ltd., made of 100% recycled polyester created from discarded clothing and plastic bottles.

In December 2019, our company established "Clean Earth: Reducing the Environmental Burden on the Earth" as one of our SDGs basic policies under "3C" (*1). Since then, we have been working on measures such as promoting paperless operations and changing the materials of our shopping bags to eco-friendly options.

Since November 2021, to reduce environmental impact, we have completely abolished packaging that we considered excessive during product packing across the entire company. However, in order to address environmental concerns while simultaneously meeting customer needs such as protecting products after purchase, we have decided to introduce non-woven packaging materials made of "100% recycled materials" for some of our brands this time.

* Non-woven packaging materials will only be provided to customers who request them.

Examples of other previous activities: - December 1, 2023 onward: Promoted the transition to gift bags using environmentally friendly materials across the entire company. - June 1, 2024 onward: Introduced a system allowing each store to use supplies created from sheets derived from discarded clothing by "commpost" (*2), a platform that promotes the circular economy. - Promoted a service that awards points to customers who decline a shopping bag at the register, while strengthening calls for customers to bring their own bags. - Efforts to reduce plastic hangers in logistics and reduce hanger deliveries when delivering to our own warehouses.

*1 3c To contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, we are advancing initiatives centered around three themes starting with the letter "C".

1. Clothing Innovation (Effective Use of Clothing Resources) ▼ Initiative details 1-1. Utilization of sustainable materials 1-2. Optimization of production volume 1-3. Promotion of upcycling
