Universal Music LLC (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Naoshi Fujikura / hereinafter, Universal Music) will release ILLIT's Japan 3rd Digital Single 'Bubee' on Monday, April 6th. ILLIT, a five-member girl group, was also selected as the theme song artist for the TV anime 'Hime-sama 'Goumon' no Jikan Desu' broadcast in January this year. 'Sunday Morning', which became the opening theme, entered the top 10 of Oricon's 'Daily Digital Single Ranking' (as of 1/13) and reached No. 1 on music distribution services such as iTunes, AWA, mu-mo, and mora. This work is a dance-pop song that fuses the essence of Shibuya-kei subculture with J-POP sensibility, and it has been selected as the opening theme song for the TV anime 'Magical Sisters Lulutt Lily', which will start airing on Sunday, April 5th. The song features a unique sound where the floating feeling created by soft keyboards intertwines with the sense of speed from dynamic drums. The title 'Bubee', derived from 'Buddy' (meaning partner/friend), embodies the desire to 'become anything with my beloved you' and the determination to pursue a new self. Following 'Topping', a track from their Japan 1st Single 'Toki yo Tomare', Noa (乃紫), a new-generation singer-songwriter who creates TikTok 'buzz' with songs like 'Zenhoukou Bishojo', is responsible for the lyrics. Choreographer Makita Sako, who has worked on hit songs such as M!LK's 'Suki Sugite Metsu!' and CUTIE STREET's 'Kawaii Dake Ja Dame Desu ka?' and whose TikTok videos have garnered over 15 billion total views, participated in creating the SNS challenge choreography. In connection with 'Buddy', the origin of the song's name, the choreography is designed around challenges that can be enjoyed by two people, such as friends, lovers, or family, with the flexibility to arrange it according to the 'chemi' (chemistry) of each pair. ILLIT started their first live tour 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎'' in March. In Japan, they will hold 11 performances in 5 cities, touring Aichi on June 13th and 14th, Osaka on June 20th and 21st, Fukuoka on June 29th and 30th, Hyogo on July 18th and 19th, and Tokyo on July 23rd, 25th, and 26th.
