Unito Corporation (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yutaro Kondo, hereinafter "the Company") and Shira Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and Group CEO: Hiroyuki Sugimoto, hereinafter "Shira HD") have jointly opened the urban accommodation facility 'SYLA HOTEL NISHI-AZABU' (Minato-ku, Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo) as part of a joint project.
The Company and Shira HD are also operating 'SYLA HOTEL AKASAKA' in the adjacent area of Akasaka. Through this joint project, they are accelerating the development of accommodation facilities in the Minato-ku area of Tokyo.
◼︎ Background of the Joint Project | Addressing the Challenge of "No Place to Stay in the City Center"
Currently, the recovery of inbound demand and the effect of the weak yen have led to an upward trend in accommodation prices in major areas of Tokyo. According to the Japan Tourism Agency, the accommodation expenses (for tourism and leisure purposes) per visiting foreigner to Japan exceed 80,000 yen, and the average length of stay is 7.1 nights (Note 1). Under the rising accommodation costs, the options for groups and family layers hoping for long-term stays are particularly limited.
Meanwhile, the travel consumption by foreign visitors to Japan has reached a record high of 9.4 trillion yen (Note 1), while about 60% of the destinations are concentrated in the three major metropolitan areas (Note 2). In this context, reducing over-tourism in the city center is an important initiative in promoting tourism policies.
SYLA HOTEL NISHI-AZABU was born to fill the "supply shortage" in the city center. Nishi-Azabu is well-accessible to Roppongi, Azabudai, and Minami-Aoyama, and is an area supported by foreign visitors to Japan who want to experience Tokyo not as a "tourist destination" but as a "place to live." Additionally, compared to typical hotels, it is designed to provide "living spaces with a sense of life," incorporating features such as "spaciousness" and "kitchen, washing machine, and other facilities." Through this joint project, we aim to realize "urban accommodation" that meets the needs of long-term stays for groups and family layers.

◼︎ Features of This Facility | "Apartment Hotel" - A New Accommodation Experience
SYLA HOTEL NISHI-AZABU offers a stay experience that combines the reassurance of a hotel with the livability of apartment living. The differences from conventional hotels lie in three features.
1. Response to Long-Term Stays
We have prepared facilities that can accommodate stays ranging from several days to several weeks, or even a month at a time. Spaces for laundry, cooking, and relaxation support the daily lives of travelers.
2. Comfortable Use by Multiple People
Among visitors to Japan, there is a desire for "sharing a larger space rather than taking two small rooms" when traveling with family or partners. SYLA HOTEL NISHI-AZABU offers a guest room with a spacious area of 96.45㎡ that can accommodate up to 8 people, providing a comfortable stay experience.
3. High Livability and Quality Space Creation
With refined interiors and equipment levels that match the atmosphere of Nishi-Azabu, we aim to create a space that can be used not just as a base for tourism but as "another home" in Tokyo. The location on the 5th floor with a view of the greenery of the garden adds richness to the stay.
◾️ Expansion of SYLA HOTEL
The concept of SYLA HOTEL is not limited to Nishi-Azabu. "SYLA HOTEL AKASAKA," located in the same Minato-ku area, is a 3-room accommodation facility located approximately a 9-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line in Akasaka 4-chome. With three types of rooms available, it can accommodate up to 8 people. Guests with different needs, such as group or family travel, can choose the stay style that best suits them.
