Born in Tokyo in 1997, DAIMON RYOTA uses self-taught airbrush techniques to develop a unique style influenced by street culture and cartoons. His unconventional style, free from existing contexts, has drawn attention in Japan and abroad, and he works internationally. QINGYI said the artwork centers on ikura and Ayase while layering imagery inspired by YOASOBI’s songs with the sensibilities of the two members. He hopes viewers can sense from the work the atmosphere of YOASOBI moving into a new phase. QINGYI is an illustrator from China currently based in Tokyo, known for fantastical visual expression. He created the jacket for YOASOBI’s THE BOOK 3 vinyl record and has worked on projects in Japan and overseas. For this work, he newly depicted Ayase and ikura, presenting an artist visual that symbolizes YOASOBI’s move into its next phase. YOASOBI is a unit formed by composer Ayase and vocalist ikura, known for “turning novels into music.” Their debut song “Yoru ni Kakeru,” released in November 2019, topped Billboard JAPAN’s annual overall song chart, and its cumulative streaming plays surpassed 1.2 billion for the first time in history. In 2021, their first EP THE BOOK ranked No. 1 on Oricon’s digital album ranking for five consecutive weeks.
